So how did hubby enjoy the box on page 10, "How the spirit revealed the meaning of the spiritual temple"?
The WT overseer at our congregation is "academically challenged" at the best of time, I think he may set this as "homework" again.

thus proclaims the quietly un-annointed governing class of the watchtower and bible tract society, passing as truth.
(watchtower july 15, 2010, page 23, paragraph 10).
this paragraph about the governing body follows a description of the annointed class, a classic bait-and-switch.

greetings, friends:.
i recall not too long ago that an article in one of the publications [km, awake!, wt ...
] mentioned a young sister who had a flourishing day-care service that she loved.
Totally addicted to my job, my wife says I was always a workaholic.
That would not have been the case if I had to clean windows for a living though.

i stopped trying to sing the songs last meeting.
it felt like a combination of chanting and stepping on a cat.
it is terrible.
I'm more of a Bachman Turner Overdrive man myself...
Evidently a man of taste, undercover

Do tell us what is says St George
Please tell us.
The download is available on the link below; I do not know how to copy and paste odd bits from a pdf file.
However, paragraph 15 says: "For the past 25 years Jehovah's Witnesses in many lands have enjoyed using the songbook entitled Sing Praises to Jehovah. In the years since that book was first published the light has been getting brighter on a number of topics, and some of the expressions used in that songbook have become outdated. For example we no longer speak of "the new order" but of "the new world." And we now state that Jehovah's name will be "sanctified", not "vindicated." clearly from a doctrinal standpoint there has been a need to bring our songbook up-to-date.
It goes on to state that "as there are fewer songs to learn it should be possible to memorize the lyrics of at least some of the new songs."
It says about taken it for granted what has been published but how much work went into its production etc and we should show appreciation for their efforts.
Twenty paragraphs of utter dribble!

I have yet to meet anyone who genuinely likes them. The GB cages have really been rattled on this issue such that they have printed an article about the new songs in the December 15, 2010 WT, pages 20-24. You need to read it to believe the dribble they have printed!
I think it is all down to the control issue. If people are allowed to make critical coments about this new 'music', the next thing they will be making critical comments about the new doctrine, e.g. the generation twaddle.
Stamp out any dissent!!!

my theory continues to be that the governing body will be forced to break down the organization piece by piece.. so, i wonder: could they dump the assemblies?.
it is clear - that they are having some problems in this area.
they are selling off assembly halls in some countries, they have moved some district assemblies to assembly halls (to save money on rent) and the pleas for donations from the platform have not let up.. while zombie witlesses may drag themselves to meetings and out in service (with whatever literature/magazines the watchtower manages to afford) indefinitely, i watch this area with interest.
In the UK the assembly halls are self funding charities and break even from the donations they receive.
If you are interested in how much money comes in from an assembly hall here in the UK take a look at the Charity Commission site and look at Charity number 1090209 for the Surrey Assembly hall or check the link below:
East Pennine A H = 1090209
Bristol AH = 1056886

P.S - I know it's been covered before, but how do you add quote blocks?
Copy the section you want and paste it into the reply section. Add a couple of returns, this is important. Highlight the section you want in a quote box and then click on STYLES. When it drops down select QUOTE and it's done.

"Creative Counting" of meeting attendance at my cong in the weeks leading up to his visit!!

as i see it, there are three looming threats that all have the potential - individually or combined - to bring the wbts to its knees, at least in the united states, anyway.. 1. youth retention.
the young people aren't buying it.
the watchtower will argue that faithless young people are giving in to demonic persuasion and leaving the truth.
Also, the WTS has backed away from some of its embarrassing positions--particularly that the "creative days" were 7000 years each. Today, you can be a JW and believe in the "big bang" and that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago (which wasn't the case when I was growing up as a JW). I don't see the WTS taking this much further, though.
OMG made the point above and also Oracle said the same. I mistakenly believed this to be the case until fairly recently. Can either of you show where that has been put in print?
The WTS still believes the creative days to be 7000 years long. They believe the earth was created millions of years before the first creative day which explains decay of radioactive elements etc. An elder in my congregation wrote to Brooklyn on this point and I published part of their reply on a thread some time ago.
As regards membership, that could fall below 1 million and they would simply write it off as "the love of the greater number cooling off". When they are finally ensconced in their new cult HQ at Warwick, autonomous and self sufficient with the farms near by, a world wide supply of KH's and Assembly Halls to sell off and provide funding, the core leaders will be living in luxury for the next century and beyond.
Any thoughts of the WTS completely disappearing is just wishful thinking in my opinion.
